According to the most recent report, OpenAI will be releasing some artificial intelligence (AI) agents in the not-so-distant future. The AI agents are labeled as domain experts and domain-specific across different domains. Unlike most of the company’s products up to this point, these are not reported to be included in its current subscription plans, and instead, the AI company will be able to sell them as individual products. These AI agents are reported to be able to do the work of an expert-level professional, and will likely be sold for an astronomically high price. https://openai.com/
Openai reportedly set to offer expensive AI agents: The information states that the San Francisco-headquartered AI company is set to launch as many as three different AI agents that will be highly niche in the domain where they will operate. Citing sources privy to the matter, the newspaper further stated that the AI agents could be launched with a monthly subscription fee of $20,000 (roughly Rs. 17,40,800). There was no mention of when the AI agents would be launched. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenAI
One of the AI agents is also a “high-income knowledge worker,” according to a report. This is typically the description for humans who have in-depth knowledge in a subject, and their job involves critical thinking, high-level strategic planning, and decision-making. CXOS, management consultants, financial analysts, etc. are some examples. The report states that it could be sold for $2,000 (or roughly Rs. 1.74 lakhs) per month.
Another AI agent in the pipeline is vowed to be a software developer costing around $10,000 (roughly Rs. 8.7 lakhs) a month. The kind of AI agent one would most likely need is experience in coding, debugging, bug fixing, and deploying code. Devin AI, another software developer AI agent, will be available for $500 (roughly Rs. 45,500) a month. In an interesting twist, Openai already has coding capabilities in the guise of its CHATGPT platform, but it is not capable of performing tasks independently, as one would expect an AI agent to be. Yet, according to the article, the AI firm’s piece de resistance will be a “PhD-level research” agent, which will cost $20,000 a month.
Google also launched its Gemini Deep Research tool, a “personal research assistant” with the ability to search and generate in-depth reports on a topic itself. It can be accessed by Gemini Advanced subscribers at a fee of Rs. 1,950 per month. With a super-high subscription fee, the AI agent can perform highly complex tasks such as ideation of a topic, simulated research, and in-depth analysis. https://platform.openai.com/playground/chat
