Is Blogging Right For You

It’s easy to get seduced by the promises of living a luxurious lifestyle, making money while still living on the beach, running your business while always being on the go, and any of the other expectations that come with blogging. But before you get started, you must first determine whether blogging is right for you. So it’s important to read articles like this, The Beginner’s Guide to Blogging for Money, and ask yourself these questions: If the answer is no, then you should reconsider getting into the blogging business.

Do you like writing?

I have never met any blogger who does not write. Whether you are a video blogger or a podcaster, you have to write something. (Yes, this is beginner blogging 101 – you have to be ready to write)
Are you passionate about your blog’s content? It shouldn’t just be about money. If this is a topic that doesn’t interest you, it has nothing to do with it. #Truth! Many popular blogs started this way, born out of passion. Do you like to spend time researching online? Unless you’re an encyclopedia expert, you’ll need to research blog posts.

Do you like spending time in front of the computer? Bloggers practically live their lives online. The only thing they don’t do online is poop and eat. Do you have discipline and determination? Remember: Passion drives you forward, but discipline moves you forward. Breaking the curse of one post and creating a successful blog requires determination. Wondering what the curse of a post is? This happens when you are very excited to start a blog and then suddenly it goes away without any warning after successfully submitting your first blog post. Ah, you read it right! Just writing this amazing blogging guide has made me feel like giving up many times…it’s not for the faint of heart. But hey, I’ve heard countless times that I’m a Type A person. Are you flexible and a quick learner? This quality is especially important when you are starting out and are self-employed. Can you handle stress? – Don’t be fooled by pictures of bloggers on the beach with cocktail glasses in hand, they say blogging is heaven. Really it’s 80% work, but you can still have fun. So it is very important to take care of your health, because if you fall ill, you will not be able to blog. As we all know, most people, including myself, ignore medical care until… they collapse.

Common Mistakes To Avoid In Blogging

If you learn from those who have gone before you, your path will be easier. Whether you are a beginner or not, be aware of the mistakes to avoid in blogging. (Hey, aren’t all these great blogging tips great?!)

1. If you’re focused on a topic, instead of focusing on a specific topic, blog about whatever comes to your mind. Unless your blog is personal, don’t focus on general content.

2. Write posts that focus on you, not your audience. Unless you’re a celebrity, your target audience won’t be interested in what you ate last night, which is usually not the case in the first place. Blog on topics that you think your target audience will find useful.

3. Copy other people’s work. This is not only bad for SEO, but it will also force your visitors to disrespect your blog. This is a great tip for people who want to learn how to start a blog and make money.

4. Write a blog like a doctoral dissertation. Online readers don’t like boring content, so make your blog exciting and engaging. Here’s another great blogging tip from me:

5. Use blurry images. See the second part of this article for resources where you can get high-quality, royalty-free images.

6. Not optimizing your content for SEO. Optimize each blog post for relevant keywords in your niche.

7. Not supporting your statements with facts and figures. Yes, you should do that.

8. It’s okay to postpone publishing until you’re ready to post. Nike says, “Just do it!” This is important if you’re actually blogging to make money, and it’s a must-have strategy for anyone in the “blogging for beginners” category.

9. Don’t advertise your blog content. Otherwise how will your audience know you have great content somewhere? Of course, of course?! For beginner bloggers, this is one blogging tip you can’t miss.

10. Blog occasionally. You can buy it only if you have a large number of readers and you are one of the really popular blogs. Set up an editorial calendar so you can post to your blog regularly.

11. Focus on analytics first. If you’re not blogging about porn, you probably don’t have impressive analytics to begin with. It would be better if you don’t see them.

12. Introducing yourself as a blogger is embarrassing because it means nothing.
