Facebook And Instagram Were Down For 3 Hours:Users Had Trouble Logging-In And Posting Comments, It Was Down 6 Days Ago

Tech giant Meta’s social media platforms Instagram and Facebook were down from 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm on Tuesday (March 25) in India. During this time, several complaints of outages in the downdetector were registered. Users are now able to use both platforms. There has been no statement from parent company Meta on the reason for the down. Meanwhile, complaints were also made from the US, UK, Australia, Canada, Japan, Singapore and several European countries like- Germany, France and Italy during the last 24 hours. DownDetector.in, is a platform for tracking outages i.e. problems of websites and online services in real time. Earlier, on March 19, both social media platforms had also faced outages.

Having trouble logging in

According to DownDetector, many users of Facebook and Instagram worldwide experienced problems accessing and refreshing feeds on both the web and app versions. An Instagram user told me that, I can see comments on stories and posts, but I can’t open them. Many also complained that when they post a comment, it disappears.
Meanwhile, users on Facebook are having trouble logging in. Some users found themselves locked out after signing out.

52% of people on Instagram have difficulties due to app connection According to DownDetector, about 52% of people experienced problems in the app. Meanwhile, 24% of people had problems logging in and about 25% reported that they had difficulty with the server connection. According to DownDetector, 78% of people on Facebook experienced server connection problems. Meanwhile, 11% had difficulty logging in and about 11% of users had difficulty posting feeds.

Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp were closed for 6 hours in 2021

On 4 October 2021, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp platforms were shut down for about 6 hours around the world. As a result, billions of users faced difficulties. The problem occurred at around 9.15 pm. The outage also affected Facebook shares in the US market. Shares of the company had fallen as much as 6%.

On 3 July 2019 at 8 pm, Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram were down in many countries including India, USA. They have been fixed on July 4, 2019 after being down for about 9 and a half hours.
