Meaning Of Artificial Intelligence
In the early 1950s, it was introduced by Alan Turning with his own proposal of when a system built by humans could be called “intelligent”, which evolved in imitation games, which was solely based on the ability of a human listener to distinguish between a machine conversation and a conversation with another human being; if this could not be detected we could assume that we have an intelligence system or artificial intelligence. “Computers that perform cognitive functions usually associated with human minds, especially learning and problem solving” (Baker et al., 2019). Furthermore, Popenici and Kerr (2017) claimed: “In the 1950s, Alan Turning proposed a solution to the question of when a human-designed system is ‘intelligent.’” Turing proposed the imitation game, a test that involves the ability of a human listener to distinguish between a conversation with a machine or another human, if the difference is not detected, we can accept that we have an intelligence system or artificial intelligence”. So, Majid (2022) defines AI as: “computers that can perform cognitive functions that are normally associated with human minds”. Artificial Intelligence or AI refers to the replication of human intelligence in robots, which are engineered to think and learn like humans. This inter-disciplinary field of computer science aims to build intelligent systems that can perform normally human intelligence-demanding tasks. These would include solving problems, recognizing patterns, understanding spoken language, drawing lessons from past experiences, and making decisions.
